First off a great big thanks to the PUSH Kiting sponsors Flexifoil Power Kites - Kites, MBS Mountainboards - Boards and Edgeriders sports store - Everything! Please check them out if you appreciate our work on this video, these people make it possible. Filmed, Featured, Edited, Comentated 100% by kiteboarders, This is what we love to do, and we love to share our fun. This is a collection of footage from a few of our sessions last year up to last week. Ipod video below..
Heres the option for all the Ipoders and Iphoners. We've also got a nice journey for you and some footage from a new, allbeit very small, epic spot. On the day we visited this new spot we were graced by the presence of guest rider 'Stupid' Dave Roberts, One of the most talented Kite buggiers around. He really showed us what is possible with a buggy. As far as Kitesurfing Kites go, the Flexifoil Ion is pretty amazing, AJ and I had been jumping off the sea wall for a while but taking the step to loop off the wall was a leap forward. Lewis and AJ were fortunate enough to get a perfect session late 2009 to make the first attempts but without the video camera's. We managed to get down for another day with the right direction, lighter winds than we were hoping for but still enough to loop with a large kite. the issue comes with using a kite big enough to catch you but small enough to loop all the way around and catch you. AJ was rocking on his 10m C4 ozone and got some sweet loops, throwing in a second loop, bar spins, grabs and finally the 'lazy boy' bar spin, It was pretty epic. I was up next and after a few test jumps we were going as high as we could and getting kite round as fast as we could. We always build up to these things slowly and have looped 1000's of times, its not something to take lightly. Even though the 12.5m did get round and infact on some of the jumps got round twice, I couldn't help but be amazed at it. It caught me each time, and every landing was super soft but still the adrenalin was pumping and hands were shaking. Its amazing to feel so blown away by kiting! AJ has truely mastered the kiteloop now, and from just going silly big, to throwing in bar spins he's still progressing, on his journey he's become so comfotable with these scary death defying moves he's taken to not really looking at the landing, which is why you can see him at some points landing huge loops and looking straight into the camera or pulling poses. Great work Mr. AJ, I look forward to the next evolution. We've been throwing Ideas around, just 30minutes ago he's been perfecting the fully inverted, unhooked stale fish grabbed kiteloop - suffice to say we'll keep you updated. Riders in this video are AJ Philipsen, David Ursell, Kris Beech, Lewis Wilby, Dave Roberts, James Wakeling. Finally, this is an extreme sport, everyone in these videos has trained for years, and trained hard, nothing in this video is safe, neither is life, please find a human sized caccoon - climb inside, have this placed in an Incubator and never come out! (legally we are still required to say, this still will not guarantee safety). Do not try to re create anything in this video, its far too dangerous, apart from breathing, please continue to breathe. Cheers, Dave!
