Push Kiting is a kitesurf school in essex, also a Kite board school and kite buggy school run by professional kiters. Check out our newest video here, Urban Wind Riders. Urban Wind Riders
Earlier this year the PUSH Kiting crew got together, Flexifoil team mates of mine Craig Sparkes and Lewis Wilby popped down for the day to see us. As well as the locals AJ Philipsen, Kris Beech, myself and Danny Copeland, all Edgeriders team mates. Read the whole story below It's rare that we get a whole day with the whole crew, and even more rare to get great wind. We had an absolutely fantastic time. Craig is the first Kite buggier to jump the sea wall, Danny was getting his board off. We spent a lot of time riding the updraft off the cliff, whether it be soaring as high as we could and floating for as far as possible or actually using the updraft to ascend the cliff face as you'll see.
We covered about 10 miles, this is only possible a few times a year when the wind is in exactly the right direction and you have the skill and courage to manage it, many sections are very tricky/near impossible to navigate riding along foot paths, walls, dirt tracks and cliffs. One scene I like is of Craig sparkes on top a sea wall with only inches spare either side, riding his trust Flexifoil Blade VIP. An absolutely superb kite that is in the PUSH Kiting van on most trips to the beach, regularly when I get this beast of a kite out we have a cue of people waiting to have a go, all blown away by performance they never thought possible from any kite, let alone a fixed power foil! (saying that it does have the superb AAA bridle to take out power or add grunt). I'd like to say a big thank you to the most awesome Mrs Harold for being such a good sport and giving us the impromptu message, she is a local resident and as many others do, she loves to see the kites up and in general people getting out there being active and enjoying life, She has a fantastic outlook and is always a pleasure to see at the beach with her little dog Poppy, sadly Dumpling is no longer with us, RIP. Incidentally Mrs Harold is currently off to Devon with little Poppy to climb Hay tor mountain range which she first did 70yrs ago at age 8, so is now returning at 78 to give it another crack, what a legend. If you fancy trying kitesurfing lessons in essex, kiteboarding lessons or kite buggy lessons, beginner to advanced then simply E-mail PUSH Kiting kite school and let us know what level you are at and how awesome you want to be! Simple :) As always thanks to our sponsors Flexifoil kites, Mbs boards and Edgeriders kite shop. Happy Kiting, David Ursell & AJ Philipsen |
